THE TRAILER TRASH ROCK ‘N’ ROLL CIRCUS

Wap Shoo Wap Records is een Amsterdams platenlabel dat sinds 2022 nieuw en jong rock ’n roll en punk-talent uitbrengt op vinyl. Naast zichzelf vernoemd te hebben naar een nummer van Ivy Green, misschien wel de eerste Nederlandse punkband uit de jaren ’70, heeft het label ook een motto: “Mess Around To The Mokum Sound!” En dat is wat alle bands op het label uitstralen: rauw, energiek, tegendraads en vol branie!

Dat punkmuziek momenteel goed gedijt blijkt wel uit het succes van bands zoals Ploegendienst en Hang Youth. Daarnaast schieten nieuwe Nederlandstalige hardcore- en punk bands als paddenstoelen uit de grond. En da’s maar goed ook! Maar hoe zit het met de rock ’n roll?

Gelukkig zijn er THE COVIDS, FUCKFUCKFUCK en SICK SHOOTERS: drie bands die gesigneerd zijn bij Wap Shoo Wap. Ze hebben alle drie een kakelvers nieuw album onder de arm en gezamenlijk besloten ze het rock ’n roll vuur in Nederland weer aan te wakkeren met keiharde live shows waarbij stilstaan geen optie is!

Wap Shoo Wap Records is an Amsterdam record label that has been releasing new and young rock 'n' roll and punk talent on vinyl since 2022. Besides naming itself after a song by Ivy Green, arguably the first Dutch punk band of the 1970s, the label also has a motto: "Mess Around To The Mokum Sound!" And that's what all the bands on the label exude: raw, energetic, unconventional, and full of bravado!

The fact that punk music is currently thriving is evident from the success of bands like Ploegendienst and Hang Youth. In addition, new Dutch-language hardcore and punk bands are popping up like mushrooms. And that's a good thing! But what about rock 'n' roll?

Luckily, there are THE COVIDS, FUCKFUCKFUCK, and SICK SHOOTERS: three bands signed to Wap Shoo Wap. They all have a brand-new album under their belts, and together they've decided to reignite the rock 'n' roll fire in the Netherlands with brutal live shows where standing still isn't an option!
