Het Belgische duo Kids With Buns – vriendinnen Marie Van Uytvanck en Amber Piddington – maakt rake bedroom indiepop met invloeden van folk en rock. Geïnspireerd door Nick Drake en Ben Howard brak het duo door met hun debuut Out of Place. Hun muziek ontstond vanuit dagboekteksten en gitaarakkoorden in de slaapkamer. Liedjes die jarenlang ongehoord bleven, tot ze op hun 19e en 21e met Kids With Buns vanuit de slaapkamer het podium op stapten.
Nu is er een tweede album, ontstaan na een relatiebreuk bij beiden. Voor het schrijfproces reisden ze naar Philadelphia om samen te werken met Jacob Blizard (voormalig gitarist en producer van Lucy Dacus, bekend van boygenius). In een chaotische periode vol late avonden en hartzeer groeide een persoonlijk en gelaagd album.

The Belgian duo Kids With Buns – friends Marie Van Uytvanck and Amber Piddington – create poignant bedroom indie pop with influences from folk and rock. Inspired by Nick Drake and Ben Howard, the duo made their breakthrough with their debut album Out of Place. Their music originated from diary entries and guitar chords in the bedroom. Songs that remained unheard for years, until, aged 19 and 21, they stepped out of the bedroom and onto the stage with Kids With Buns.
Now there’s a second album, created following a break-up for both of them. For the writing process, they travelled to Philadelphia to collaborate with Jacob Blizard (former guitarist and producer for Lucy Dacus, known from boygenius). In a chaotic period full of late nights and heartbreak, a personal and layered album took shape.
